How to Build Raised Garden Beds Part III | Layout

The experienced gardener or the novice raised garden beds take the hassle out of horticulture.

Planning a raised garden bed is easy with The Green Box and building, protecting and irrigating raised bed gardens add beauty to your back yard or front garden beds.

 
 

Now that you decide to build a raised gardening bed after finding a sunny place in your yard & gathering tools and materials.  The next thing to do is to start a layout.  

 

You will need some stakes, hammer, a string line  & level.   Start in one corner and drive a stake approximatetly one foot beyond the outside corners each way.  Measuring the post thickness and panel length and deducting the slot depth.  You should now have a string in somewhat a rectangle.

How to Build Raised Garden Beds Part III | List of materials

The experienced gardener or the novice raised garden beds take the hassle out of horticulture.

 
Planning a raised garden bed is easy with The Green Box and building, protecting and irrigating raised bed gardens add beauty to your back yard or front garden beds.


Now that you decide to build a raised gardening bed after finding a sunny place in your yard.  Make a list of materials something like this:
 
1) Number of corner posts and number of straight posts.
2) 1/2 sack of mortar mix per post.
3) rodent barrier for bottom of The Green Box foot print.
 
Tools needed: shovel, pick, digging bar, post hole digger and wheel barrel.
